The Future of OUR Economy is in OUR Hands

Are you tired of buying cheap products from manufactorers that take our money and jobs overseas?  I know I am.  I want to support my country and the businesses that make products here. I want the profits they make to stay here in America and support our economy, not some other country.  There used to be a time when you bought something from the store, it was known that it was made here in America.  Not now.  Almost everything we buy comes from another country.  How is this helping our economy?  How is it helping our cities and towns create jobs?  How can we create jobs when most of our consumer spending puts our money in the pockets of businesses overseas?  It's simple, it's not, it doesn't, and we can't.

Politicians are saying, go back to school and learn to use the computer and get a job in another field (other than manufactoring), basically.  There's nothing wrong with going back to school, but I don't believe this is going to solve our economic problems.  Jobs are leaving here and moving overseas, why?  They make more money that way and it's cheaper for them.  And we, Americans, are falling right into their trap.  We buy those products, making them richer, while we are suffering the consequences;  the value of our dollar keeps dropping and dropping.

So, what can we do to change this?  We need to start buying American-made products from American businesses.  Sounds like a good idea, right?  Well that sounds good, but how can I do that when almost every store around me sells just about everything but American-made?  Well, that's where Shopping for America comes in.  We can buy American-made products from American manufactorers right over the internet.  And these products are things you are buying now anyway, why not choose to buy American-made?  Products will be availble to purchase very soon.

  1. Stephanie, you are exactly right! We need to purchase goods made here in the good ole USA! If US consumers would shift just 10% of there import purchases to things made here in the USA, then we would see a dramatic change in the economy!
